Fall River Arts and Culture Coalition
About
The Fall River Arts and Culture Coalition (FRACC) was founded in 2019 as a crucial step towards fostering collaborative action in the arts, culture, and creative economy of Fall River.
Our mission is rooted in the belief that a united community of artists, creatives, and organizations can amplify the cultural richness of our city. With a commitment to shared ideas, collective action, and advocacy, FRACC serves as a catalyst for positive change through education, events, programming, and funding opportunities.
Who we are:
FRACC is a committee of One SouthCoast Chamber and One SouthCoast Chamber Foundation (501c3) is the fiscal agent for the Coalition. We have over 250 members including creatives, entrepreneurs, business owners, cultural organizations, local government, and more from across the City and the SouthCoast.
FRACC is proud of its open-source commitment to collaboration and improving the quality of life for Fall River residents by growing opportunities and support for the City\’s arts, culture, and creative economy. Our vision is to support and advance arts and culture as a key driver to future economic prosperity.
What we do:
Collaboration and Advocacy: FRACC brings together diverse individuals, organizations, and businesses committed to enhancing the quality of life for Fall River residents through the arts, culture, and creative economy. Our open-source framework encourages collaboration and fosters an ethos of communication and partnerships including ArtWeek SouthCoast.
Grants and Support: We actively support local artists and cultural organizations through grants, apprenticeships, and funding initiatives. Our goal is to ensure equitable distribution of resources, both geographically and demographically, fostering a thriving creative community through initiatives like The Ignition Space at 44 Troy Street.
Public Art and Events: FRACC is at the forefront of public art projects, facilitating compelling murals and initiatives that transform the cityscape. We host and support a variety of events, from festivals like We HeART Fall River to art exhibitions, creating spaces for residents and visitors to engage with practices that define our community.
Inclusivity and Equity: Commitment to equity in arts and culture is at the core of FRACC\’s guiding principles. We ensure that all events are accessible and reflect the diversity of our community. Payment for artists engaged in our initiatives is a priority, aligning with the Americans for the Arts Statement on Cultural Equity.
Our goal? Making Fall River the best possible place to live, work, invest, play, and visit.
