About
MassDevelopment is a quasi-state finance organization that works with other state agencies to improve the housing stock across the state through financing affordable and market-rate apartment projects. MassDevelopment also focuses on providing financing options for manufacturing and non-profit businesses looking to purchase new equipment, renovate or build new commercial buildings or refinance debt through loans, guarantees or tax-exempt bonds. We also provide brownfield assessment and remediation loan financing for blighted sites across the state to allow for their eventual clean-up so that these derelict sites can become economically viable once again.
MassDevelopment also work with municipalities to provide grants like technical assistance, site readiness, collaborative workspaces, Transformative Development Initiatives (TDI) and much more. Through all of these collaborations we help create jobs, increase the number of housing units, revitalize urban environments, and address factors limiting economic growth including transportation, energy, and infrastructure deficiencies.
