SEED Corporation
About
Under the Micro Loan Program and Small Loan Program, SEED provides loans up to $50,000 and $250,000, respectively. Loans can be made to both start-up and existing businesses, and can be used for working capital, leasehold improvements, machinery and equipment, furniture and fixtures, and refinancing business credit card debt. Rates generally range from 5-6% over a six-year term, with no prepayment penalties for borrowers looking to pay off early.
Decisions on micro and small loans will be made based on several factors including need for the loan, the business’s ability to create or retain jobs, character and management ability of the principals, credit history, global cash flow, and collateral.
SEED also offers complimentary business assistance to all micro loan borrowers as well as prospective clients in the form of monthly workshops, a variety of business planning resources, and post-loan financial consultations.
Under the SBA 504 Program, SEED can provide long term, low fixed interest rates; 90 percent financing for small businesses undertaking real estate or machinery and equipment acquisition; projects ranging from $300,000 to $13.75 million or more. Most small businesses are eligible. For projects smaller than $300,000, SEED can utilize its small loan programs.
The SBA 504 Program provides a maximum of 40 percent financing of an eligible project. A lending institution selected by the applicant finances 50 percent of the project and takes first position on the equity. The applicant provides the remaining ten percent. The lending institution’s portion is financed at conventional rates and terms.
