NB Creative Peer-to-Peer Sessions: Grant Writing & Grant Finding
August 24 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm EDTFree
Peer-to-Peer Sessions is a free and accessible online series geared to enrich, educate and connect creatives through a series of workshops and training sessions. New Bedford is the home of artists, creatives, change makers, designers, entrepreneurs and community enthusiasts and the Peer-to-Peer Sessions embraces the pulse that makes New Bedford so unique while expanding our knowledge and connections.
In anticipation of the many funding opportunities through federal, state, and local pandemic recovery efforts, today’s session will focus on grant writing and grant finding with guest speaker Abigail Hevey, Manager of Grants & Development for Coastal Foodshed.
Abby grew up on a small cattle farm in upstate New York, where her 75-year old father still farms and continues to share his love of farming with her two kids. She worked alongside Kim Ferreira and Stephanie Perks at Mass in Motion New Bedford and learned the importance of working to change policies and systems that create a healthier environment for everyone. As a grants manager, Abby’s goal is to find and acquire funding for programs and projects that move toward systems and policy changes and create a long-lasting positive impact in the community.
